Jordan Banks is a songwriter who has been writing in various bands since he was 13 years old. He spent two years touring the midwest until relocating to Lafayette, Indiana in 2007. For his first solo album, titled "Don''t Be Scarred," Jordan worked together with Jason Martin, singer/songwriter/producer of the acclaimed California shoegazer band Starflyer 59. On the record, Banks played most of the instruments himself, while enlisting the talents of Zach McNulty on guitar and other noises, as well as Ryan Martin on drums. "I believe in using your limitations to your advantage. I don''t always have access to full-time band members, so I like to play around with different techniques of achieving a full sound in my music, whether that be playing the drums and bass myself to creating loops of noise and using ukulele''s. I am fascinated with the idea that a song can be anything I want it to be, with no rules to hold me back."
