Details:
Luke has been creating music in his home studio ( Stone Lab Records )since 1998. He has become very knowledgeable in engineering, recording, and producing his own music, as well as his other projects and local artists also. The music that comes out of the “Stone Lab” tends to have a funky fusion of jazz and rock involving intricate heavy driving grooves that back up intertwining melody lines, solos, and layers of obscure rhythmic harmony. You will find vocals on a few tracks, but not vocally overdriven. Some tunes are written on guitar, some on organ, some on the drums, some on bass, making every song have a unique sound and variation of composition and tone.
On his solo albums Luke plays most of the instruments himself, along with guest musicians such as Keyboardist Eric Levy (Garaj Mahal), Guitarist Brian Baggett (Dojo), Sax Master Jesse Malloy (on the one), Organist Ken Lovern (Ida McBeth, OJT), and Horn Wizz Todd Wilkenson (professor at Washburn University.)
