Recorded during various periods throughout 2008, Blood Orange is the debut album by Oakland artist Evan Jewett. Released under the byname Family Room, the record was mainly tracked by Jewett in a studio approximately the size of a small bathroom. Full of tape hiss and the odd mishaps that often accompany a self recording, the album combines cloudy american music with simplistic electronic experimentation and texturing. Acting as both a rough sketchbook and archival document of Jewett''s song writing, Blood Orange is a record of hazy wanderlust, drifting between the foggy and the familiar.
