The 300+ turnout for kBRANDOW’s breakout “Golden Ticket” showcase proves that music fans are ready for kBRANDOW’s thoughtful and eclectic brand of original music dubbed “Spirit Rock” by creative-force Damion Gallegos. Damion and long time drummer; Jeff RJF’ski have nurtured and guided the kB vision since their first release on Damion’s label FEEB Records in 2006, playing with an array of the Bay Area’s best. kB hit stride in 2008 as fate brought in Damion’s former solo projec guitarist Erik Smyth AND Kai Eckhardt and Eric Levy of “Garaj Mahal”. This inspired collaboration is a magical chemistry that peaks during live performances.
While it’s easy to see the commercial and underground appeal of their music and attitude of social outcry for change and love, kBRANDOW’s sound is not easy to define. They’re an engaging combination of lyrical, melodic and hard rock with a eclectic twist. They have both mainstream “commercial” appeal, and the chops to intrigue jam and heavy rock veterans.
“Spirit Rock” is filled with essential rock and roll sounds and soulful roots. It blends; “shut up and listen” grooves, eclectic pop sensibilities with funky Jazz, Americana and singer-songwriter sensibilities with tasty world music flare. This band grabs one from the first riff and enthralls until the last note. The magic is momentous.
