In a Detroit rock scene full of veteran bands, the Prime Ministers are still on the youngish side.
At the same time, they won''t deny things have changed in their 10 years together. Three of the band''s four members hit age 35 this year, and judging from their new full-length CD, they have some grown-up issues to contend with — and even celebrate.
"COMPROMISER" approaches its strictly adult themes with honesty and a wry sense of humor: family commitments ("Learned From The Best," "Matters Most"), dating for over-30s ("Only 35"), reconnecting with old friends through technology ("Safe & Sound On Microchips") and summer nights spent watching veteran rock acts at the local amphitheater ("Late In The Day").
But the PM aren''t giving up their dreams of rock glory. Each of "COMPROMISER"''s 10 tracks is loud and fun, packed with feelgood melodies and minivan-acclerating choruses that sear themselves into your brain even before the guitar solo kicks in.
"COMPROMISER" by the Prime Ministers. Rock made by grown-ups, with hooks the youngsters can enjoy — whether they''ll admit it or not.
The Prime Ministers are:
Todd Wicks (vocals, guitar)
Brandon Malik (guitar, vocals)
Nedry Coho (bass)
Ron Vensko (drums)
