Born into chaos, we were educated in music by a father who spent his life chasing dreams, building guitars, raising a family of thirteen and not settling for the conventional life the “American dream” had to offer. With the constant tickle of the sound of the banjo, ever in the background of daily life, we have been inspired to make music as a way to be heard and bring to our audience the lessons that we have found so important to survival in the world as we know it. As a large family we simply lived to survive and strived to learn everything our mother and father had to offer us which, as time brought reality, was much more valuable than what any youngster could ever hope to know. By accidental necessity we were forced to live as close knit siblings in both proximity and in friendship. Roper Electric is comprised of six of the thirteen. Maggie, singer/songwriter; Dylan, singer/songwriter, guitar; Isaac, saxophone; Andrew, bass; Simon, drums and Joseph, piano, singer/songwriter. Our music is a blend of rock and jazz with a hint of bluegrass here and there. Our performance is an energizing and powerful experience that is filled with addictive and fulfilling combinations as unique as those who present it. We hope to inspire our audience to dance and to live with a better understanding of the nature of God and living with hope in day to day life.
