Details:
Haunter was born in the winter of 2007, the bastard son/daughter of chance, boredom and desperation. After months of talk and no action, the three friends who would become Haunter managed to discover a jam space (which came to be known as ''Dink HaĆ¼s'') but had yet to ever play anything together. After months holed up inside their modest second home in downtown Winnipeg, Haunter shuffled off this mortal coil, escaped into the ether, and re-animated to play their music as loud as they possibly can.

With Matt Williams and Jory Hasselmann sharing vocals and songwriting duties as well as playing multiple instruments with multiple effects (Matt on rhythm guitar; Jory on lead guitar & vibrator) and Ryan Coates beating (and caressing) the drums, Haunter''s live shows are loud, tight and flooded with reverb. With the addition of the incomparable Marie-France Hollier on bass in June 2008 (having only learned bass the week before her first show), Haunter has carried to term (and birthed) a full, heavy, booming sound. Their songs draw heavily from late 80''s/early 90''s college rock, filled out with subject matter ranging anywhere from lazy sarcasm to sincere yearning. Their influences run the gamut from Godspeed You! Black Emperor to Pavement. Recently, Haunter has played alongside Oxford Collapse, Love as Laughter, Land of Talk, Library Voices, Women, Hey Rosetta! and the Handsome Furs.

Instead of hibernating for the winter or finding relief in a cold, Winnipeg death, Haunter will be scheming and plotting. With tentative plans to record a 7" single and eventually an album, the coming months should be nothing but busy. Between sleep-overs, pizza, comic books, fights and more and more shows, Haunter is hoping to survive the winter with physical manifestations of hard work to show for it.
