Hazard To Ya Booty is an exceptionally tight funk rock band from St. Louis, Missouri that fuses elements of rock, soul, hip-hop, jazz and blues to make a fat-bottom funk sound that''s guaranteed to get people shaking and sweating. Hazard is heavy like only a live funk band can be and throws one of the highest energy live shows this side of rock music. Starting out in MO at Truman State University in 2000 and making a huge splash on the local college scene, Hazard has gone through various line up changes since but all the while stayed true to its core principal: gettin'' that booty moovin''. Fans of Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Roots will love Hazard for their mix of melody and rhymes with rockin and funky grooves all accented by a slammin'' horn section. Other parallels can be drawn to Sly and the Family Stone, Parliament, James Brown and an era and style which have provided the samples and examples for much of today''s popular music. Hazard has played with The Doxies, Pomeroy, Heiruspecs, Core Project, Freekbass, Nappy Roots, Jurassic 5, Common and Ya Mama''s Big Fat Booty Band. Hazard has two self-released full-length albums, "Putcha Hand On It" and "Squeeze," and is currently working on their much anticipated 3rd album due out at the end of 2009. Hazard still plays around the STL on a regular basis performing 45min power sets or 3 hour extended jams. Start stretching if you catch their live show because you better be prepared for a workout.
