This is the first release from the Southern born Singer-songwriter, and it features songs he began writing after moving to the Northwest five years ago. He moved with notions chasing of a girl, but made a fool of himself in the process. The story is the same as with many a broken heart: After chasing and losing what felt like love, Myles sought to find resolution in his songwriting. However, what set him apart was the realization that his music would become less about this girl, but about something much bigger.

While his music would lend the answer, “not usually,” there is a certain sense of hope about Myles'' writing and musicality. The album is rich with strong lyrical story telling, a daring vocal approach, and arrangements that are just as strong and engaging as all the other elements. Minus the Girl stands up to be a raw but effective first release from the brooding songwriter.
