Who is Joshua''s Vision?
In the Bible Joshua used music to tear down the walls of Jericho. A music ministry from Indianapolis, Indiana wants to continue that idea by encouraging a life-long commitment to Jesus Christ.
We want to help tear down the walls of personal struggle, sadness, and resistance to God’s healing hand through our music and message. We pray that our music reinforces the joy and grace that His word can bring whether you are saved or waiting to feel His hand on your heart.
We perform Christian favorites—preferring to call our style contemporary gospel. Our uplifting music is a combination of accompanied and a cappella music. We strive to have a strong bible basis to our music and message. Our music consists of popular favorites as well as originals. God has blessed us with a unique style, but our sound has been described as a cross between The Martins, and a sacred Chicago.
We look forward to praising His name together with you.
Our Brief History
Andrea and Bryan met in September of 2006 when Andrea started playing piano at High School, where Bryan was the Director of Choral Music. There was an exciting music and working relationship, but nothing beyond that. As happens, conversation became more friendly. They found out that they were both recently available and were soon on a date. The evening of their first date, they ended up singing for over three hours and realized there was something special personally and musically. This was the beginning of Joshua’s Vision...
A few weeks later they had booked a show at Smith Valley United Methodist Church . A name was now needed. Bryan had worked in marketing and designing logos, slogans, and marketing plans--often asking clients what they were about. Why did they have their business? What did they want to accomplish? This procedure is how the new musical partnership would be named.
Bryan and Andrea admitted to making some VERY bad choices—to the point of destroying much of their previous lives and seeming to try to destroy themselves. But God had intervened! They wanted others to feel the same grace and mercy he had provided for them.
Both had denied His love over time. There had been times that they both thought themselves “too bad” for Him to love them. Walls had been high...the mortar STRONG. Andrea stated that they wanted to break down others walls to resistance too. EPIPHANY! A name was born.
Today Joshua’s Vision includes Coy Hutcherson. God sent Him to JV as strongly as He sent Bryan and Andrea to one another. His addition as the word smith of the group has prompted the writing of many songs on behalf of Jesus Christ.
JV knows that they should continue breaking down walls of resistance to His healing hand. As His servants, they will continue to do what He calls them to do.

Andrea Hughes
Andrea is an Indianapolis area pianist and organist. She is still actively performing and accompanying in the Indianapolis area.
Andrea’s time is mostly spent being a stay-at-home Mom, which is a huge misnomer! Sometimes she feels like she lives in her van rather than at the house. Although it is challenging, she enjoys keeping up with their four kids and their many activities. She is the keyboard specialist and a worship leader at her church. She also spends time as an accompanist for local schools and for students at Butler University.
After earning a bachelors degree in Vocal-General Music Education from Michigan State University, Andrea was called to ministry. This resulted in a Master of Arts in Church Music degree from Christian Theological Seminary. She served as the organist at Southport United Methodist Church for six years and is currently the organist at First Presbyterian Church in New Castle, Indiana. She spent four years as an assistant choral director and accompanist at Lawrence Central High School and also taught at Nativity Catholic School as an elementary music teacher.
Andrea would like to thank her parents for a firm musical and spiritual background. She would also like to thank Ms. Datz (who passed away a couple of years ago) and Doc Ingram, her high school choir directors, for encouraging her to pursue music as a career. She would like to thank God Almighty for His work in my life and for bringing Bryan to her. Their lives since have been nothing short of one miracle after another.
Bryan Hughes
An Indianapolis area vocalist, choral director, and percussionist, Bryan has been performing and directing professionally from the age of 3 years old. He still performs in areas outside of Joshua’s Vision. He enjoys singing barbershop with friends and coaching a cappella groups when he has the chance. His musical background is heavily steeped in barbershop music. He was the lead in Keep ‘Em Guessin’, the 2001 Cardinal District Champion. He also was in New S’Hughes with his brothers and dad, Wabash Avenue , 1998 Cardinal District Champs, and Rhythmix from Ohio .
Much of Bryan ’s time is divided into a few different areas. He enjoys his church—1st Presbyterian in New Castle —where he serves as the Worship Leader and teaches Sunday school. His family is an area that he enjoys a lot. Bryan loves being the spiritual leader of the household—a role that he has finally embraced completely since Christ entered his heart a few years ago. He loves racing—especially some of the great local tracks in Indiana and the Midwest. Bryan’s real job is with The Boy Scouts of America. He works with The Crossroads of America Council as a District Executive serving the Old Trail District in Eastern Indiana . With this new assignment, Bryan and his family will relocate to New Castle , Indiana .
Bryan would like to thank God first and foremost for the opportunity to serve Him. He would also like to thank his parents and Grandma Hughes (who went to be with God a few years ago) for passing music down to enjoy as a life long endeavor. Finally, but not at all least, he wants to thank his foundation on this earth…his beloved wife Andrea. He says, "God has brought us together in His timing. For that I praise Him every day." Bryan and Andrea have 4 children. Josh, Laura, Jacob, and David.
Coy Hutcherson
An East Side Indianapolis area resident. Tell all the gang on 42nd Street that he was from there! Give his regards to Broadway. (you can ask him about that at one of the shows). He works in the trucking industry, and enjoys singing barbershop—where he actually gets to sing his God given part of bass. He is also still active as an ordained minister performing marriages, funerals, and services in the Indianapolis area.
Coy is often busy helping with the bus ministry and special music at his church, Lighthouse Community. He very much enjoys spending time with his wife Amber, or helping friends. His professional life has included working for the Flying J in truck air conditioning, and as a pastor on the east side of Indianapolis. He continues in those two areas, and currently works for TMC Trucking on Indy’s south side.
Coy’s musical background has primarily revolved around church. His bass skills and singing have been honed in service to Christ. Coy is the primary word smith of the group. His knowledge of the Bible and God’s blessings allow him to bring most of the lyrics to Joshua’s Vision music.
Coy thanks his Father God for the many gifts in his life. He also thanks his parents and sister Rachel. Finally, he’d like to thank Amber for being his wife. Their meeting at 14 years old was God’s plan, and He’s still providing.
