“Once upon a time, on another world, two ancient races lived side by side. In the daytime, humans controlled the world, but as the night stole the sunset, the darker race got its power back. The humans were scared, of course they were scared, at night time, they were the hunted animals, and the vampires did not rest until dawn. But lately, the vampire attacks became a more and more seldom happening. Of course the humans were happy, but what was the reason? And more important, what was the catch?â€
The Vampire Chronicle is a fantasy novel I wrote and then recorded as a cd album. The book is in Danish, but the songlyrics on this record are in English. I re-wrote the whole story into 10 tracks. The music is pretty heavy and hard rock based, mixed together with folk music from all over the world. Besides the standard heavy rock instruments like drums, guitar, bass, keyboards and vocals, I included banjo, flute, clarinet, bagpipes, accordion, classical nylon stringed guitar and violins, cellos etc.
So it is a big mix of many different world genres along with the heavy metal rock sound, but it works!
The story follows a young man called Rudy. He discovers that the average human life length has been decreased by around 30-40 years over the past fifteen years. People simply grow older faster. He travels out in the world to find the answer and gets pretty surprised when he meets the vampire girl Stella…
