TRES FEMMES is an acoustic, all-girl trio featuring the talent and original music of three independent Midwestern songwriters: Stolie (Chicago IL), Victoria Vox (Green Bay WI) and Kellie Lin Knott (Minneapolis MN). The naturally blonde 20-somethings alternate between guitars, bass, conga, ukulele, hand percussion, and a steady flow of tight three-part harmonies. Some think "Dixie Chicks," but they ain''t country. Some say "Crosby, Stills and Nash," and yes, they do love to cover "Love the One You''re With," but, uh, their WOMEN! And don''t you dare say "Wilson Phillips." TRES FEMMES WRITE THEIR OWN SONGS!!

The three songwriters found each other while following the stars of their own solo destinies. Kellie Lin (the folk/jazz one) met Victoria Vox (the pop/rock one) at the Berklee College of Music (from where they both graduated!), and years later began touring as a duo act called "Chics with Pics." Stolie (the rock/blues/comedy one) had met Kellie Lin at a club in Chicago where they vowed they would one-day tour together. Not soon after, a "Chics with Pics" tour collided with a Stolie date and, needless to say, the songwriting bug was infectious! The three immediately began plugging in backing harmonies.

After that initial collaboration on a just a few tunes, the girls decided to officially pool their musical chops and form an acoustic trio, performing an array of each of their original songs. For the simple purpose of easier billing, they stamped a name on their collective project, and in the fall of 2003, Tres Femmes was born.

With their combined years of experience booking and promoting their individual careers, the teaming proved a strong business force as well as a powerful musical entity. There were interviews to be had, airwaves to taint, and fans to be moved! The trio soon took their discovery on the road - to the greater Midwest, to the east coast, and even to Idaho! They quickly became a juggernaut of amazing buzz-building capacity; it was overwhelming.

So much so, that the girls had a meeting. After just a year and a half of gaining significant momentum and selling nearly 1000 copies of their June 2004 CD release, "Tres Femmes," the girls have decided it''s time to pull back. The band has always been propelled by each of its members strengths, and now it''s time for each to grow and to focus for a while on their original and individual musical endeavors - recording solo records, re-building the repertoire, individually expanding the fanbase, and just getting some relaxing alone time (have you ever been stuck in a van for three weeks with two other raging hormonal 20-something WOMAN??)

But seriously, through their amazing experiences on the road - eating lots of food, breaking strings, cementing inside jokes, sharing shoes, shirts, make-up, running on treadmills, fighting over 2nds or diminished 7ths, crying over broken hearts, embracing at reunions, and celebrating victories - Victoria, Stolie and Kellie Lin have built a life-long friendship that they''ve been so happy to share with those who have witnessed its existence. Stay tuned for the reunion, friends!

"The trio''s gorgeous vocal harmonies and buoyant acoustic-pop will surely turn any frown upside down."

"TRES FEMMES has all the musical talent of a band twice it''s size"
- Riverfront Times, St. Louis, MO (11/12/03)

"Although the band is still in it''s infancy, the musical capacity displayed by these three able femmes far surpasses their age"
- Daily Vidette, Normal, IL (12/4/03)
