Of Blessings And Burdens was a four-piece post-hardcore band based out of Amherst, Massachusetts, USA. OBAB, as fans are still fond of calling them, rose out of total obscurity in their genre; for the years of ''03 & ''04 they worked tirelessly to play any and every show, and get their name and music in front of as many listeners as possible. By all accounts, the band came into its own with the release of this record: "...now that she''s in town." Of Blessings and Burdens became known throughout the New England Hardcore scene for their engaging and down to earth persona, dynamic live shows, always killer merch, website, videos, and artwork, thoughtful lyrics, and especially their pioneering blend of styles, featuring a formula of catchy melodies highlighting Ryan''s soul-inspired vocals, transitioning seamlessly into time-bending pit beat down anthems capitalizing on Dave''s blistering howls. Because of their range of sounds, they were able to share the stage with a greater range of bands, and simultaneously appeal to an expanded base of listeners.

The band started in 2003 and stayed with the same lineup of four founding members until the release of ...now that she''s in town. Soon after the considerable success of this record, a fifth member was added to enhance the live shows by freeing up one vocalist from his dual vocal & guitar duties. During that time, they shared the stage with such bands as The Acacia Strain, (who have since picked up OBAB bassist Jack Strong) Anterrabae, All That Remains, Shadows Fall, NORA, Unearth, Antilove, The Miles Between, Mercury Switch, and many many more.

Have a listen, grab a song or two, or ideally the entire record. Envisioned before the days of single song popcorn bubblegum downloads, "...now that she''s in town" was created from the start to be an old-school ''listen to it in one sitting'' record, and in order to fully appreciate the band''s vision that is still the best way to go about it. Few listeners who take the time to ride the entire record will dispute that Of Blessings and Burdens was a phenomenal band, period.
