I love telling stories and sharing music with good people and good friends. With lots of encouragement and some good chart positions on Triple J’s Unearthed competition (a fantastic radio station in Australia), I decided to get some help to share some of my songs with good folks like you.
The song (and EP title) ‘How did I get here?’ came about because of my kids asking me a lot of the bigger questions in life. The really big one, of course, was ‘how come you and mum can’t be together any more?’ We were sitting on Lighthouse Beach at Ballina. How do you answer a question like that?
For good or ill, the only way I could conceive was in song. There can never be one right answer, but I think they understand more as they get older.
I’ve made the artwork on the cover and the disc to look like a letter you might get from an old friend. I’ve been privileged to meet many wonderful people through music. And I hope to meet many more. Thank you very much for listening. I really to consider it an honour.
