MP3 Sharon Luanne Rivera - I Believe

My style is kind a mixture between rock, country and folk. I grew up listening to Beatles, Bob Dylan, Carly Simon, and Billy Joel. I write about an experience or feeling then I just start playing chords on my guitar till it sounds right.

8 MP3 Songs in this album (28:29) !

I Believe album is a mixture of songs I had written and recorded with my
"New Agenda Band" in Pennsylvania and songs I had written after I moved to Tennessee. It was very hard leaving my band and friends to take a teaching job in Nashville. It was also hard leaving my musical arranger/studio musician, Frank Duffy, who had just helped me with my first two CD''s. He was awesome at taking my simple songs and adding so much life to them with all of the instruments and his style. His influences growing up had been Brittish Rock Bands, most importantly, The Beatles. But God led me to the right people in Nashville to keep recording and playing. It got kind of hard to get enough Christian concerts booked to keep players interested, so I eventually just started playing my guitar and singing with tracks. I also tried a girl trio for a while and we would do a lot of dance moves together with the songs. One song on this CD is called "Living in the Garden of Eden". I was inspired to write this song one day when I was floating on a raft in our 4 foot pool and looking up at the beautiful trees and blue sky. I just started singing ...I''m living in the garden of Eden, my husband is a perfect man, I''''m swimming in our pool surrounded by trees and I feel just lilke Eve. We''ve got a sweet, sweet child name Chelsea, big blue eyes and blond hair, we''ve eaten from the apple, but we''ve been forgiven yeah we''re livin'' in the garden of Eden. ..... and then I kept adding verses about my life, my family, and I just wanted the song to reflect how my life is good and God put lots of good things in our world and really, with Jesus we really are living in the Garden of Eden! Other songs include "Someday" and "Fly Away Someday" both of these songs have the theme of leaving here someday to go to a better place. I think one of my best songs on the project is called "Help Me Lord". I was really in a lot of pain when I wrote this song. I actually had come to Nashville in a wheel chair in the airport because I had plantar faciaitis. I could hardly stand. My doctor told me to stay off my feet as much as possible. I started teaching in Nashville, but one night getting out of the bath tub I started singing this song......help me Lord, oh help me stand, give me strength and hold my hand, I am weak and you are strong, help me lord to carry on...... the song continues with a prayer of just asking the Lord to help me to keep going on even when I am sick and full of pain. I think everyone can relate to this song. Everyone hurts and has pain sometimes in their life.
