Smooth Kentucky got their start as a bluegrass group, but that is far from defining who they are. There is a definite bluegrass soul to what they do, but their music is influenced by something other than just old-time mountain music. While you are likely to catch a Bill Monroe tune in their live set, you are also just as likely to hear a Grateful Dead, or Bob Dylan, or Gordon Lightfoot song pop up.
