THE SHADOW SIDE is an ambitious concept album that encompasses 10 songs and stories of love, loss and the struggles of duality within one''s self. These stories resonate at the heart of THE SHADOW SIDE imbuing each song with vivid emotions such as passion ("Ecstasy"), happiness ("Angel Heart"), loss ("It Hurts To let You Go"), suicide ("The Shadow Side") and haunting memories of lost love ("Picture"). THE SHADOW SIDE is a melodic rock opera involving a complex, dark and compelling storyline. THE SHADOW SIDE will be available on April 7 (CD and Digital Download).
THE SHADOW SIDE was written in its entirity by Marc Anthony including all lyrics, music, lead vocal melodies and guitar melodies and harmonies.
Marc Anthony, who is currently the drummer for The Fifth, has also recorded and performed with Cruz Del Sur Recording Artist, Widow, Locomotive Recording Artist, Jam Pain Society, and Tribunal Recording Artist, Line of Fire.

Marc Anthony - lead vocals, background vocals, drums and percussion, keyboards and piano, guitars, producer.
THE SHADOW SIDE was produced by Marc Anthony. The album features a special guest studio performance by Eric Aittala on acoustic and electric guitars and additional bass guitars as well as co-producing and engineering. Additional guest studio performances include Roy "Rory" Cathey of The Fifth and MCA Recording Artist, Cold Sweat, who adds his vocal talents on "Angel Heart" (electric version) and "Too Far Away", Joshua Pantke of Cruz Del Sur Recording Artist Widow on bass guitars, LiLi Padilla (Formerly of Widow) who performs duet vocals with Marc Anthony on "Picture (Crimson Night)" and Randall Rhodes on additional bass guitars.
"I have always been known for being a drummer...the visual timekeeper, " says Anthony, who is endorsed by Sonor Drums, Attack Drumheads and Regal Tip Drumsticks. "And I love drums. But I love writing songs, singing lead vocals and playing piano and guitar just as much as drumming. My biggest musical influences have always been singers and songwriters."
Making the album, says Anthony, was a challenging, yet rewarding, experience. "Angel of Mercy is Marc Anthony. The songs are intense because they are real. THE SHADOW SIDE is about love and loss and trying to find your way. It is about the internal battle of light and dark in all of us. When you capture that emotion in words and music then you have something truley special. It is catchy, melodic rock with a dark and moody vibe. I put my heart and soul into these songs. This is the soundtrack of my life. But it is place where we have all been. Everyone who has loved and lost can relate to this story. THE SHADOW SIDE is in me....THE SHADOW SIDE is in us all.."
