Details:
Ezmeralda was founded in 1992 by Jmil Ferguson and Rene Fancher. Their original bass player was Debbie. Michelle joined the group in 1993. The three moved to Boulder in 1998, and were sooned joined by bassist Leslie Gaston. The group played gigs just about everywhere: The Soiled Dove, 15th Street Tavern, Tulagi''s, Cricket on the Hill, Iliff Park Saloon, Mahoney''s, The Catacombs, T&R''s... the list goes on and on.

The group released their Half Gramme Holiday in 2002.

Rene Fancher (guitar)

Rene has a B.A. in Humanities from CU Boulder. She started piano lessons at the age of 8, and guitar at 14. At the age of 16, she was enrolled in college-level music theory courses. She contributed her talents on guitar to commercial recordings of spoken-word poetry.

Rene reminds us not to scratch our scalps with bloody candy canes.

Jmil Ferguson (drums, percussion)

Jmil has a B.S. in Biology from CU Boulder. In addition to being a dynamic percussionist, Jmil plays several stringed instruments and has played in bands of various styles.

Jmil likes cats, black comedies, and amusing televangelical programming.

Michelle Woodside (vocals, keyboard)

Michelle, from Pueblo, Colorado, has a B.A. in Music Education. Michelle began voice lessons at the age of twelve, and has since sung with several performing groups around the country, including Jazz musician Gordon Fells in San Francisco, and the Pueblo-based rock band Model Citizen.

Michelle says, "I''m a little bit BUSY."

Leslie Gaston (bass)

Leslie is Assistant Professor of Recording arts at CU Denver. She is a lifelong lover of music, with diverse talents. She is also a classically trained pianist.

Leslie says, "remember to worship Murphy and all of his laws. I sacrifice goat heads to him".

All the women in Ezmeralda contribute their songwriting talents (and humor) to the original music they record and perform.
