On the evening of January 4th, 2009, at the Shooting Star Casino, in Mahnomen,MN, Richard escaped a near death situation. While tring to board the shuttle bus the driver forgot to put the shuttle in park. Richard and wheelchair got pinned and drug across the frozen ground. Being a songwriter he came up with the "Cat With Nine Lives."
