Details:
Although hip-hop has always been part of his life, little of this Baltimore native''s time on Earth has been as a rapper. Raised in the Lafayette projects, by a single parent mother, sports and later music became an outlet through wich he could escape the reality of his grim situation. No stranger to the woes that are commonly expressed in the majority of today''s rap, R-Sin vows not to glorify, but rather offer hindsight to those who follow down the same path he has unfortunately lead. The passion and energy he displays on stage is in stark contrast to the soft spoken and extremly reserved individual he is when in his comfort zone. There is nothing gimmicky or over the top about this MC whose main mission is to show the world that knowledge comes from comes from some of the least expected places. Being alive is a badge of honor for him because almost every year he loses a freind to the the streets. Not able to rise above their conditions, he offers their cumulative perspect, his music, in tribute to their lives. In many ways, his debut album is an introduction to the other side of his personality he didn''t want to show the world until now. "The mission of the album is offer people an alternative" says R-Sin." So much of music is the same tried and true formula. With this album I took chances and I think a lot of people will be feeling the direction I took." With subject matter ranging from women to his thoughts on unexpected death, he puts it all the line and gives listeners a glimpse into the mind of a man truly being real. His motto "Sin before Sacrifice" may sound harsh to some that cannot relate to his conviction, but to anyone from there his declaration rings with so much truth. Like so many young black men coming of age, with the "struggling is not an option" mentality, years and sometimes tears later he realized that there was a better way. From the ashes of his past, a smarter more focused individual has emerged ready to succeed. The album, Elements of Life, features the production of Kariz of Bang-N-Beat and includes collaborations with Skarr Akbar, Fat Smoke, Stephen Speilberg, Selah, and Don Trunk.
