Neil Buettner is an Indie/Acoustic/Alternative singer-songwriter, who is often supported by drummer/percussionist, Matt Harrington. The music comes from a wide range of musical influences stemming from classic singer-songwriters, such as James Taylor, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills & Nash and the like, funneled through the ubiquitous pool of prolific influences such as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Dave Matthews, Miles Davis, Coltrane, Mozart, etc… It truly is difficult to put a finger on specific categorizations and influences- as virtually every band will tell you about their music. That being said, we would probably be well received as an opening act for the Jack Johnson’s, Jason Mraz’s, Coldplay’s, Death Cab for Cutie’s and Dave Matthews Band’s of the touring scene.
Neil Buettner (pronounced “Bittner”) has been performing in and around the California Central Valley, Bay Area, and beyond for nearly a decade. Over the years he has been fortunate enough to keep a very busy schedule (often as a solo-act), performing at clubs, bars, charity and community events, as well as private engagements, on an average of 3-5 or more times a week- easily surpassing the 1,200 show mark in his career thus far. February ’09 marked the beginning of the next chapter as their debut EP, entitled, “Underneath a Painted Sky”, was released. The project was recorded, mixed and mastered at Proview Studios and produced by Adam Ruppel- guitarist of Elektra recording artist, “Systematic”. In less than 2 months, they have already sold hundreds of cds and since January of this year, their website has been visited over 25,000 times- not bad for an unsigned local band.
