The Man In Black has been my hero since I was a kid and a big influence on my songwriting, as well as the way I sing. I don’t think I sound that much like Johnny Cash. I just tried to write these songs in his style and then perform them that way. The music helps. Carl’s guitar gives the recordings that “Cash” feel without relying too heavily on the vocals.
