Growing up playing as a musician in his local church, Jo-B found a calling as a performer at an early age. Becoming proficient in every musical instrument he could get his hands on, the young prodigy''s musical destiny quickly became too great to contain.
The young phenom left home at the age of 11 to join a local Regional-Mexican group touring the Pacific-Northwestern states and began to cultivate his unique stage presence and appeal. The captivating stage persona of the promising youth soon won over the group''s audiences tour-wide and left the budding artist craving for something inevitably greater.
In 1999, the 15 year old composer recorded his first demo CD as a Pop-Latino artist, writing, producing, and recording every song himself with money saved up from past gigs and tour work. The 3-track compilation was released locally and became an instant success, landing the young songwriter regular radio rotations, press and media interviews, as well as more touring and performance opportunities.
With the hectic realities of touring and musicianship weighing down on the maturing artist, Jo-B decided to make a chage towards stability and uniformity in his life and enlisted in the US Army at the age of 18.
Traveling around the world from Korea to the Middle East, the young soldier developed an appreciation for the fascinating and diverse music of the world abroad, again gathering and absorbing all that he could musically along his travels.
Along his paths, the blossoming songwriter met a seasoned Rap Artist who formally introduced the young phenom to Hip Hop lyricism and production. "I never really listened to Rap much growing up...I was mostly interested with what I was performing at the time, and that was Latino music..." (Jo-B).
The developing artist instantly fell in love with the genre, writing and perfecting intricate lyrical compositions worthy of commercial acclaim within his first weeks of undertaking the new style, creating a new approach all his own, with of which we have the fascinating and extraordinary artifacts with us today...
