Jason Sheppard (Phoenix), Kyle Thomas (Minnesota), and Johnny Garafalo (Washington D.C.) sat around playing some good ol’ fashioned tunes about loving and dying, drinking and crying, city lights, full-moon nights, the sun and the moon and the beginning of the end. some of the songs are mostly made up, some of the songs are partly true, but all of them are pretty damn good

the fiddle playing Kim Callan (Houston) and the bass plucking Corey Dawson (San Diego) came along and formed a five-piece group that became known as Suicide Cowboy. playing in some of the best dive bars in the Los Angeles-area for a couple of years helped the band build an impressive set of old-school country covers, popular rock tunes, and plenty of original songs that showcase the band’s own unique style of folk/bluegrass/Americana music

the summer of 2007, Suicide Cowboy released their self-titled EP (available on iTunes, Napster, Sony Connect, and Rhapsody), filmed their first music video, and added the final piece of the group by finding the supremely talented Dan Blum (Pasadena) to sit in on the drums. the complete band returned to the recording studio to work on their first full-length album Silvertrain that is set to be finished in the summer of 2009
