Claire''s Well is a heavy-rock band with a sound defined by distinguishable, stunning lead vocals, well-crafted vocal harmonies over a guitar-driven growl, searing guitar leads, and a rhythm section that will rattle the bones in your chest! The line-up of lead vocalist Dave Artiaga, guitarist/vocalist Joey Rapps, bassist Elfie, and drummer Kevin Kosmoski has a chemistry that can''t be duplicated. CW has received accolades from local FM rock stations, namely Steve Hook''s Jersey Rock show on 95.9FM WRAT and 105.5FM WDHA''s Homegrown Spotlight w/Lindsay Klein. While striving to be the best band on the bill, they''ve had the pleasure of playing at some of the coolest clubs in the NJ/NY area such as The Starland Ballroom, The Stone Pony, The Bitter End, The Saint, L''Amour''s and many others.
Some are curious as to how Claire''s Well got their name. So, here''s the story, as told by founding member Joey Rapps: "We get that question a lot. An old friend of mine, who also happened to be a drummer I was playing with, was always showing up in a new car and wearing new clothes but, never had a job. I wondered if he was selling drugs. It wasn''t that simple. His mom, Claire, was the one who was buying him all this high-priced junk! So his buddies would break his balls and say ''What''s coming up outta Claire''s well this month? (squeak, squeak) Oh look! A brand new Ford Mustang with a custom audio system! And what''s this? (squeak, squeak) A new Honda S-2000!!'' ....and on and on. I was trying to start a band with him at the time, and one of these mutual friends said, "Why don''t you call your little band, ''Claire''s Well''?" I loved the name when I heard it and here we are."
Becoming interested in CW by the story of how they got their name only goes skin-deep. Their songs, through both lyrics and music, give the listener enough substance to draw them into countless plays. These are timeless rock songs that are beyond the ''flash-in-the-pan'' type of hooks we''re barraged with in today''s scene. The definitive sound of CW is not just a product of their collective influences, but augmented by their own unique signature.
