His new album ‘The Sky Was Blue’ features songs made famous by Billy Holiday, Sinatra, Joni Mitchell and Nina Simone, and sounds like Tom Waits and Frank Sinatra fighting over who gets to sing next in some plush velvet lounge in Vegas. Born in New York City, Bremner grew up in a travelling family, first living in NYC, then the north of Scotland and finally Vancouver, BC. His influences are complex – in Scotland he grew up with the sweet sounds of the UK pop Top Ten - from the Bay City Rollers to David Bowie, and in Vancouver he sang in punk rock bands - all those sneak into his jazz recordings.
He just came off the road touring Japan with an 18-piece Big Band, and performing in a Cabaret show in the UK, and is looking forward to being home in Ontario and doing some intimate acoustic concerts.
