A Review of "The Devil Said ''Hi'' To Bill" from Hot Rock magazine by Trotman McSnorkelson (completely biased since he "plays" on the record):

2009 finds Suicide Bill back in the basement. After last year''s grinding world tour to promote the underground sensation, "A Little Bit...Burned?", he seems to have wanted to get back to where it all started (not to imply that Bill has matured one iota). Bill and The Liquors recorded 13 songs on a 12 track machine in Bill''s house. Quite simply, the result is a Low-Fi masterpiece entitled "The Devil Said ''Hi'' To Bill". If you like music played fairly ineptly but loudly and with feeling "The Devil" is for you.
Bill''s detractors have said that he plays "shitty" alt-country and "crappy" power-pop. This record includes both of these genres but instead of "shitty" and "crappy" he has moved more towards "profound" and "isolated". Great acoustic anthems as well as weird rockers make "The Devil Said Hi" Bill''s best record.
Wonder whatever happened to legendary musician Ray Pruit? He lends hearthrob crooning and sideburn guitar playing to Bill''s ugly singing and bald picking. RIP Wellington (former Jasper''s Law member) plays thumping bass and some other guy barely keeps time on drums. The Devil Said "Hi" to Bill......and Bill shouts back.
