Turgut Alp, Akin and Tanju are the “ good fellas ”.
I dedicated this album to them, my dearest friends.
As normal we had a two day session recording the CD in Tanju’s studio. In Istanbul, Turkey September 2008.
Following my previous recording ( old school )
I have chosen eight more of my favorite jazz standards.
I hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed playing them.
I know we are not going to change jazz-world,
but this music is changing us, in a loving way, and hopefully changing you too.

I was born in Trabzon, Turkey in 1961 and grew up in Istanbul. I started out playing Mandolin and Accordion in fist grade.
I first became interested in playing bass upon hearing records by Jaco Pastorius, Scott LaFaro, Charlie Haden, Ray Brown, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, and Charlie Parker.
More recently I play played in Europe with different jazz groups.
In 1995 I made a move from Istanbul to Palm Beach, Florida with my wife Gul. I''ve been performing in South Florida since then as a freelance bassist. For the last 5 years I''ve done art shows almost every weekend ( as an artist https://www.tradebit.com ) so I''m not playing music as much as I did before. I spend most summer times in Istanbul making recordings and performing at jazz concerts.

This is my second jazz album in US, call " good fellas ". Akin Eldes play electric guitar, Turgut Alp Bekoglu play Drum, and I play Double-bass. It is trio album.
