Details:
SiB is the stage name of Adrien Siboulet, born and bred in Paris, France, where he studied Fine Arts before joining the rest of his family in Australia in 1997. Around that time, inspired by Hungarian-Australian bass player Jackie Orszaczky, he swapped the paintbrush for a guitar which led him to join indie band iRiS who eventually released two EPs and got to support Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds before breaking up in 2002.
By that stage, SiB was already writing on a four track analogue tape-machine the content of what would become his signature songs. He played and recorded drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and eventually started writing lyrics and layering vocals.

A one-man Soul and Rock’N’Roll explosion, SiB is not a solo affair, rather he is the culmination of years of toil and inspiration as he crept the boards of Australia’s music scene for the for the good part of the past decade, collaborating and performing with local artists such as Daniel Merriweather, Harry Angus, Jade MacRae, Mahalia Barnes, Paris Wells and sharing the stage with international artists such as Tricky, Cody ChesnuTT and Dudley Perkins & Georgia Anne Muldrow…

He sites early Psychedelic Rock and Soul artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Funkadelic, Led Zeppelin, Sly Stone, Curtis Mayfield and Al Green as his major influences.

His debut EP “ drifting part one” is now available through Rare Records and in all good Melbourne indie record stores.

PRESS:
"SiB sings to the ghosts of the blues with his elegiac balladry and with electrifying soundscapes, he builds a psychedelic bridge between the blues and modern sound. At every turn the sexy instrumental textures support his eroticised lyricism."
