I was born in Glendale CA, started my musical journey at the age of 9, was taught to play guitar and sing by my father Bill Salas a musician himself, who played the famous Los Angeles Sunset strip in the late 60''s along with his brother, Jerry Salas now the lead singer of the Latin Rock Group " El Chicano ". My father influenced me with the wonderful sounds of Crosby Stills and Nash, Buffalo Springfield, Jimmy Hendrix, James Taylor, Loggins and Messina, The Beatles and more. I''m a big fan of today''s contemporary bands such as, U2, White Stripes, Oasis, Tom Petty, Maroon 5, Train, Oingo Boingo, Sting, Sara Bareilles, Rob Thomas, John Mayer, Jack Johnson and others.
It’s hard for me to describe my music but I think of it as eclectic Pop, Rock, a touch of the blues and dash of jazz.
I started performing with my brother Jessie, a singer, at the age of 12 all around L.A. and began writing songs at 14. I moved to the Stockton California area in my late teens and performed there and nearby San Francisco at Colleges, and cafes. I also got involved with musical theater for the first time and landed the lead role of Pippin. I went on to do a few more shows before I moved back to L.A..
My "Circus Life" CD project had always been on my mind to do but with cost of studios, producers, engineers etc. it just got put off until now. Learning to wear those hats, I dove in and co-produced it with my good friend David Britten once signed with RCA records. Jerry Salas can also be heard on a couple of tracks with his guitar and background vocals. What a journey this experience has been. My hat is off to all the people who work behind an artist.
I remain as passionate about music as I have always been. I was excited to see that Indie artists have a chance to be heard today in more ways than one thanks to CD Baby and other Internet venues.
I really hope my music touches you in some way! Peace to all, please keep the music and musicians alive by supporting their works. We do it for love and you! Music does make the world a better place, it''s a language everyone everywhere understands.
