MP3 Sharon Luanne Rivera - Scranton, PA.

A real-life experience, country song. When I went to Nashville, I met a lot of folks who couldn''t make it in music. In the song I try to make it big, but no one will even listen to my songs. I go back home to Scranton to sing my songs.

Details:
I was inspired to write this song when I was in the plane flying to Nashville for a teaching job interview. I was listening to my song movin'' on, movin'' out on my head phones and looking out at the clouds and then the awesome sunshine. I started thinking that it would be great to finally get a teaching job in Nashville. I was sick of substituting in Pennsylvania for 10 years. So when I got down in town for the interview, I had time to try to pitch some of my songs and talk to other song writers and singers. The bus driver said he had been in town for 40 years and hadn''t sold one song. He had me in tears. Anyway, that''s how this song began. Talking to people about music in Nashville and how hard it is for any one new to break in with their own songs and ideas. So in my song, after trying to make it big in Nashville, I sing about going back to my little town of Scranton, Pa. There, you can sing your songs, you don''t have to be anybody big to make a joyful sound. My friend Frank Stellatella plays sax on this song and Frank Duffy played all of the other instruments. I sang back ground vocals and I think the song came out pretty cool. So, I thought I would put it out as a single.
