Ekoo, a swedish based mixed vocal and music constellation performs an entirely African repertoire. Started in 2006 by Eva Nilsson as a expression for the many songs taught to her from African friends and teachers, the group presents their unique rythmical and vocal interpretation of significant and vital stories from the South. Their first album features songs from Ghana, Sengal, Mali, Zambia, Guineé and South Africa, sung in Ewe, Bamabara, Mandinka, Nyanja, Xhosa, Zulu and Sesotho.
