I started listening to music at the age of four but did not start playing guitar until ten years later when my brother-in-law bought me The Ventures'' first LP, Walk-Don''t Run in 1960. That album absolutely changed my life forever. In addition to their clean sound and solid driving rhythm section, The Ventures had such a great sense of melody. I began learning the lead guitar parts on this album, and then rhythm, bass, and drums from their next LP. After school and week-ends, I spent all my time trying to figure out each part. I think those LPs were my best music school ever, but to increase my musical knowledge, I took some classical and jazz guitar lessons. Later, I listened to the great guitarists or groups like Santana, Blood Sweat & Tears, Tower of Power, George Benson, Mark Knopfler, Hank Marvin, and Richard Bennett, to name a few that also inspired me. They played with such feeling it was like magic to me. I also listened to many Latin performers, with all their strings, brass, and percussion arrangements, and classical music also has a great place in my heart. After playing for many other artists in studios for their albums or on their live shows, I recently decided it was about time I put my years of experience and influences on a series of different style music on my own records. The first is a very romantic easy listening style, with very clean, relaxing arrangements. I am also working on other CD projects with styles like Latin, old rock & roll, and a surf. All my musical life experience is showing here from my heart, and I am very happy to share this experience with you in listening to this record. Thank you for supporting me and my music.
