Details:
Originally from the Pacific Northwest, BJ moved "north to Alaska" in 1984 and never looked back. The places, the people and the music won her north bound heart, and inspired many of the lyrics and titles for her songs. She wrote and performed with the band Outlaw Women, and in 1989, before BJ moved, they recorded the album "Wanted".

In the winter of 1990 (at -65F) BJ and her bagpipe playing wildlife biologist husband moved to the Northwest Territories. First to Yellowknife and then up the MacKenzie River to Norman Wells.

Fall of 1994 found them moving "south" to Dease Lake, BC, at the north end of the Cassiar Hwy, just south of the Yukon border.

2002 they tearfully left their cabin in Dease and moved to "the big city" of Whitehorse, Yukon.

In 2005 BJ was selected to recieve a grant from the Yukon Govt. (Advanced Artist Award) to help record her music. BJ released the CD "January Thaw" in August 2005.

Picture a bonfire, a sky full of dancing northern lights...add a little guitar and singing...you''ll enjoy January Thaw.
