Thick Soup is proud to release their second full length album of all original material (“Mourningwould”). Their first self titled album released exactly one year earlier has established their footprint in the music world and their second only steps harder. Thick Soup is an acoustic trio that formed in 2004 in Sonora, CA up in the lovely foothills of the Sierra Nevada’s. The band is comprised of Brian De Massey (Vocals, Guitar), Ian Boyd (Guitar, Vocals), and Greg Torres (Upright Bass). Each individual in Thick Soup has come from a different walk of life that has its roots in American music. Together, they mix a unique blend of blues, jazz, and Americana that forms a lively and energetic mélange of good music. Thick Soup prides itself on playing Honest Acoustic Music that is without all the cheesy, butt music you hear solo acoustic artists playing all the time. They load their songs with intense, but tasteful solos that carry the melody beyond comprehension. Compared to their first album, “Mourningwould” is definitely exploring some new ground and proving to be like a compressed spring ready to launch Thick Soup into full swing with the music thing.
