The music reaches emotional peaks reminiscent of Martin Hayes & Dennis Cahill. Russ performed with Dennis Cahill in Chicago at Martyr’s Pub.
The music hums with the electric energy of Altan. Russ performed with Francie Mooney, father of Altan’s fiddler, Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh, in Donegal at the Hiuidai Beag’s session in Bunbeg.
The CD churns with the propulsive rhythms of Lunasa. Russ jammed in Dingle with Donough Hennesey, the founding guitar player of Lunasa.
