Band Biography

**Desert Saints are sponsored by Hacienda Harley-Davidson in Scottsdale, AZ. Rick Hatch, owner.

A bit about Steve/Guitars and spunk:
Born on the banks of the mighty Mississippi (St. Louis) and raised in San Jose California, I was a rock & roll junkie from early on. I’ve been playing guitar since I was 11 and have mostly just played for myself. My Les Paul has been equivalent to everyone else’s Scotch. While playing and practicing I was often disturbed by someone banging on my walls or front door for lack of appreciation of my art. Who DOESN’T treasure Van Halen, Led Zepplin, Guns & Roses, AC/DC and the like?

A bit about JD/Drums and eagle feather tattoo:
One Christmas my parents replaced the Quaker Oats tube and kitchen counter tops with a drum set for me, and a bass and amp for my brother, Cade. "WOW!" is all I can say. We started all those years ago rockin'' in church. Who would have thought all these years later we’d have a real CD and sold 5 songs to a movie producer. It all seems like a dream! Pulling this group of guys together was one of my best days! When I’m able to get my funk on with the band, I feel like I have my own piece of ''heaven on earth''!

A bit from Cade/Bass and cowboy hat:
I cut my musical teeth on country blues-based Pentecostal Gospel music in hot, sweaty ''wrong-side of the track'' churches. Then I discovered Grand Funk Railroad. Ray Boatwright (R.I.P) of Mosrite Guitars was my Godfather. However, Mel Schacher of GFR is my Godfather of Bass! Blame him for the ''run, don''t walk'' bass assault I bring. And ''Saints'' bring it! Served desert hot and spicy!

A bit about Dane/Vocals and strut:
Chalk it up to twenty years of hell and sacrifice – starting sometime in the 1980’s... Fifteen of those years were spent in the alternative and punk rock trenches of San Francisco/Bay Area. Over the years I formed or joined numerous bands, gained extensive writing, recording and performing experience, and had the occasional brush with success… My inspiration has been U2, The Police, The Clash, Van Halen, and AC/DC…

I obtained my commercial pilots’ license in August 2001 but my career as a pilot was short lived when the tragedy of 911 happened that same year. Entry level positions were almost completely unheard of, so I gave up my dream to fly airplanes for a living and redirected my passion back into writing music and recording again. I started fashioning my own style of music combining alternative country, hard rock, Tex-Mex and acid blues - but couldn’t find the right musicians. …. Then amazingly in March of 2005 I moved to Scottsdale, AZ and met the most amazing group of guys, ever

The Beginnings of Desert Saints:
While visiting Arizona in 2004, Dane was introduced to JD through a mutual friend. Dane clearly remembers taking in the awe and mystery of the desert setting of Scottsdale and Phoenix - all the while thinking, “I foresee my music happening here…” Once he moved to Scottsdale it wasn’t long until he hooked up with JD. JD told his brother Cade about Dane, and Cade jumped at the opportunity play bass. JD also knew of a guitarist named Steve Korn, and said he would talk to him about rounding out this ''band''. It wasn’t long before they began jamming together. The first few sessions were loud - but focused. Each one was really excited about the sound they were producing. Then, amazingly, something really special started to manifest itself – a palpable chemistry that wasn’t really expected and certainly never experienced. All realized this wasn’t something to be taken for granted. This was the beginning of some serious sound and Desert Saints.

Steve says, "We rehearsed for about eight months. Then one day **Rick Hatch heard us play and offered to sponsor our first CD. A month in The Salt Mine to record… five masterings and three months later our debut album, Sins of the Desert, is ready to make us famous!"

The Saints love to rock! So pump up your stereo, hit the dance floor, or fire up your Harley and ride! An important thing to remember is: THIS CD MUST BE PLAYED LOUD!

Warning: May cause speeding tickets! So listen responsibly. Enjoy!
