Details:
Daryl Hall & John Oates - The Philly Years; Collector''s Edition - Disc 1 includes 23 songs, recorded between 1968-1971, featuring Daryl Hall and John Oates in their early Philly years after being discovered by reknowned songwriter/record producer, John Madara, and before their record deal with Atlantic Rcords. Thirteen of these recordings have never been released. Five songs are recorded by Daryl as a solo artist before he and John Oates began recording together, one of which is a rare bonus track of a never before heard recording, "Girl Don''t Make Me Wait," written by Leon Huff. The CD was produced by John Madara, with selected tracks produced by Tom Sellers.
This one-of-a-kind CD is presented by John Madara, through That Philly Sound, which is dedicated to the music that came out of Philadelphia during the 50''s, 60''s and 70''s. John co-wrote and co-produced such timeless classics as "At The Hop" (Danny and The Juniors), "The Fly" (Chubby Checker), "You Don''t Own Me," (Leslie Gore) and "1-2-3" (Len Barry, who also co-wrote the song). John also produced the huge hit, "Rock and Roll Is Here To Stay" (Danny and The Juniors). These and countless other hits helped to create "The Sound of Philadelphia."
All songs have been digitally restored and digitally mastered.
