Gilyto Moreira Semedo was born in Achada Galego (Assomada) on the island of Santiago in Cape Verde. He migrated to Portugal in 1987 and lived in Holland in the mid-''90s. He recorded his first album in 1999(Kel Tempu), and in 2001(Nha Atriz Principal) his second album, for which he was awarded his first gold disk for selling 30,000 albums.
He is a rising star and became known as "Mr. Entertainer" for interacting with his fans.
