DREAM

In the Fall of 2004, four musicians came together in Los Angeles to complete a band and share a dream. Canadians Doug Heffernan and Dan Nelles joined Oregonian Steve Giles and Los Angeles native Tony Gray to finish the circle that was begun the previous year with the recording of the bands debut album Closest Line Theory. The powerful combination of hook-driven modern rock music and heavy live performances immediately garnered the band attention at the local level and much further beyond.

LIFE

Before the pieces were all in place, various members had crossed paths and worked together on previous projects. Doug (vocals and guitars) and Steve (bass and backing vocals) had been writing together for a while and had landed a record deal with major distribution around the turn of the millenium. When the label mishandled its financial backing and collapsed just two weeks after the bands record was released, everything fell apart. But the two held strong, worked up some new material and started all over again. When the time came to put together a new band, they started with Toronto import Dan Nelles on drums. His playing made an immediate impact on the songs and the sound of the band had its perfect foundation. The three players then went into the studio with Los Angeles producer Paul Calder and worked furiously to create a record that could capture and showcase the music without compromise. After nine months of hard work, Closest Line Theory was born and they knew they had something special. With the record quickly gaining attention on all fronts, Doug, Dan and Steve knew they needed a second guitarist to be the final piece of the puzzle. Enter Tony Gray, who had worked previously with Dan on various projects. After the very first rehearsal, the chemistry between the four of them was immediate and undeniable. With the lineup complete the music came roaring to life and the band was ready to take on the world. After gaining great amounts of exposure with Closest Line Theory coupled with touring throughout the southern US in 2005, the band decided it was time to head into the studio again. With the full compliment now in place, and well traveled, DLM''s second release titled Over The Wire is set for release in September 2006.

MISERY

DLM has dedicated themselves to putting in the hard work it takes to achieve success on their own terms. Between the undeniably radio-ready sound of their first record Closest Line Theory and their upcoming release Over The Wire, not to mention the driving force of their live shows, they are now poised for a big year in 2006 and beyond. They also know from first hand experience that it won''t be easy. "Everyone has problems in their lives and we all know that nothing worth having is easy", says Heffernan, "But we know this band has what it takes to be successful in this business and were ready to take on whatever headaches and miseries we run into along the way!"
