So who is Howlin'' Bob?
Howlin'' Bob is in an elite class of guitar players. Bob hails from outside the Chicago area where he grew up and learned from influences like Jimi Hendrix, Dickey Betts, Duane Allman, Roy Buchanan, Jeff Beck and Michael Bloomfield. Bob has played with the Coasters, and jammed with Double Trouble, Greg Allman and Dickey Betts. The Howlin'' Bob Band most recently opened a show for the Marshall Tucker Band as well as The Georgia Satellites.
Bob''s first CD titled "TURN UP THE GUITAR!" shows off his outstanding playing. The blues and southern rock influences are evident along with a dash of New Orleans, soul, and jazz. What Howlin'' Bob is not is another "me too" type of sound.
Playing drums on the CD is Lenny Balistreri, a veteran drummer who has backed up some of the world''s finest guitar players, gigging with Barney Kessel and Herb Ellis.
Bass on the album was by Pedro Arevalo, who currently tours with Dickie Betts.
