Details:
For those of us that really miss Living Colour yet think Avenge 7Fold is a little much, get ready for 2009, and the answer to our prayers………….The Brigade.

The title track, “Made In America”, is the anthem needed to get this country, and all it’s financially, politically, and militarily confused soul searchers, to pick their asses up and think about what we are doing. Shredding is king – part Guitar Hero, part 90’s low bottom crunch, and all 2009. If this song doesn’t come out of the gate and simply kick you in the balls, you are unconscious. Period.

But this album goes way beyond a “one hit wonder” band. Each song on the album will take you to another place, another styling, another musical genre that you have grown up on, enjoyed, and followed over the last 30+ years. No, this isn’t Daddy’s war ballad album.

It’s reflections of STP (“Person Of The Year”, ‘Where Have You Gone”) and your favorite Jazz/Blues masters (“Angels Depart”), full of lyrical storytelling and observation, should make such artists stop and think about the kids he has truly influenced. “The Dirty Name” is a Rock/Funk/Jazz blend as if the theme to “Shaft” was covered by Soundgarden, with a masterful tip of the hat to John Frusciente and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Steve Vai and Billy Sheehan eat your heart out. (“The Professor”) is an instrumental homage to G7. The mystical, magical beauty and awesome strength of the guitar work, the tight cymbal and percussive talent, and the standout virtuoso bass playing come together and prove that sometimes, things are better left unsaid.

Time Out is just the tune to make you yell out loud. You need to find a way to take a time out, enough said.

The closing track (“Creatures Of Habit”) puts us right back to where we started. This is a 3 minute synopsis of what “The Brigade” are all about. Each individual instrument and member coming together to pummel you into the ground. Vocal harmonies are tight and melt together just right. Time changes remind us that talent is always underappreciated, much to the credo of Living Colour, Rush, and Tool.

This album starts and stops with all the blood and sweat of what we want to hear on the drive into our pathetic jobs if we still have them. In between, we are gracefully showered with moving styles and tributes to those bands we all love. “Made In America” may be just the thing to get the followers to realize that when opportunity is allowed, something happens; and The Brigade is what’s happening.
