Details:
This is Karen’s second solo release. This album is very personal. The song “in this sad song” recounts the feelings she has experienced in the deaths of her parents when she was very young. Both parents died suddenly within four years of each other. When her mother died, she began to write music—wonderful music! She feels that her parents’ deaths were the catalyst that sparked her musical odyssey. Karen has been singing, acting and composing music nearly all of her life. She performed the lead role, Lutibelle, in Purlie at USC Spartanburg. She was a member of the Inspirational Players and played a variety of roles in community theater in South Carolina. In Pennsylvania as a member of V.O.I.C.E.S II, she wrote and directed a short community awareness play about homelessness entitled Catch the Next Train. She completed session work with a variety of musicians from groups such as Earth Wind and Fire, Change and the Marshall Tucker Band. Karen was the lead singer for the blues band Cocktail Frank. Karen wrote and produced the song “My Name Is Peter” that promotes autism awareness and is currently writing music for a theatrical production about Broadway performers and their quirky habits. As a member of the Broadway Troupe, Karen displays her comedic talent and vocal ability to the delight of audiences throughout PA. Karen has currently co-produced an acoustic album of original songs with Joe Cirotti.
