NEW AGE: Meditation, NEW AGE: Healing

Details:
In his debut CD, Spiritual Finds recording artist Krishna Singh creates a compelling soundscape on Return to Tranquility. This recording creates a meld of contemporary ambient sounds that complement the body, mind, and soul. A mixture of soothing cello, piano, and vibrant Tibetan bells, Return to Tranquility can be enjoyed during yoga, meditation, or relaxation.

Return to Tranquility ranges in mood from ambient and pensive to sensual and rhythmic, reflecting Krishna''s study of Zen meditation and martial arts for over 20 years. His desire is to heal the stressful mind through his meditation music, and his deepest personal goal is to provide inspirational and soothing sounds for people who have little understanding about meditation and its benefits. "We have so many things to juggle in our everyday lives," he says, "Meditation relieves stress, creates more energy in our bodies, and brings us back to ourselves. This is what I like to call ''peace-ness''". Return to Tranquility also reflects the influence of nature in Krishna''s life, as much of his inspiration was born in the great outdoors.

Krishna is not alone to tout the benefits of relaxation music. The original "Mozart effect" study in 1993 studied volunteers spatial reasoning after listening to Mozart''s K448 piano sonata, relaxation tapes similar to Return to Tranquility, or silence. Researchers believed that this type of music improved spatial reasoning skills. Later research suggested that this music can also reduce the number of seizures in people with epilepsy. In the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, Professor John Jenkins assessed international evidence on the effect of music on the brain, and called for more work to be done to discover the key ingredient in the "Mozart effect". Professor Jenkins suggests "listening to certain types of music would prime the activation of those areas of the brain and enhance spatial-temporal performance."

Krishna Singh''s own personal journey toward tranquility and "peace-ness" is a remarkable one. Originally born in India, at the age of two, Singh and his parents were in a tragic car accident in which his actor parents were killed instantly. No other family was found, and Krishna was taken to an orphanage in New Delhi, India. At the age of five, he was adopted by Irish American abstract artist Robert Wiegand, and his Austrian wife, Ingrid, a writer/ videographer who lived in the United States. Far from his birthplace, Krishna grew up in Soho, a creative neighborhood of New York City, and became Peter Wiegand. After beginning the study of classical violin at seven, he went on to perform at Carnegie Hall at the age of twelve. In his early teens, he began his study of karate and Zen meditation, which he continues to this day. "I want my music to reach out and create an impact," he says, "I am an artist because I want to make a difference in people''s lives." Krishna (also known as Peter Wiegand) now resides in Brooklyn, New York.

The Executive Producer of Return to Tranquility is Carla Lynne Hall of Moxie Entertainment, which includes Spiritual Finds as a subsidiary label. For further information on Krishna Singh and Return to Tranquility, please visit https://www.tradebit.com.
