Kandella was formed by Anna Di Paola and Frank Chambers in Glasgow, Scotland. Both are accomplished songwriters and have now found the time to get into the studio and record their debut album " Flying High ".All twelve tracks are original and range in style from acoustic ballads to country, pop and rock.
“This week I had a choice of trip hop, a trendy indie band and a plethora of electronica. In lieu of these well-managed, well produced and obviously well supported acts, I’ve gone for a lesser polished diamond. Kandella are duo Anna DiPaola and Frank Chambers. Their soft folksy tunes are so not part of the scene that their music takes on a kitsch coolness. Whilst they take turns at singing, it is Anna’s luxurious voice that stands out. Her warmth could defrost the coldest humbug and her yielding pain could make a delirious prozac-ee cry. At times her tone is Carpenter-esque. At others I can hear the ghost of Kirsty MacColl. Either ways, I could happily listen to an album full of Anna singing acoustic songs…sad or happy. With the fine multi-instrumental talents of Frank, Kandella are the hidden gem in Glasgow’s music collection. A beautiful talent.”
