I went to South Africa in July 2005 to assist a friend Matt Doll in filming the Billibong Pro J-Bay surf contest and met a musician named James Vodicka from Chicago who let me sit in with his band. Apon learning I was a reggae drummer from Santa Cruz,Ca, he brought to my attention a band from a nearby township called the Roots Rockers. He also told me of a brand new ,never been used state of the art recording studio in close proximity to where I was staying.
