Hi there,
The Kinky Star is a brand new band, born to play a brand new sound...
We are: Lieu Tenant(vocals), DonCapurro(programming sequencer),
Loubens(synth) and Stef (guitar), four italian guys who met in 2005...
at the time Loubens was studying art at the Academy in Bologne and was interested in theatre and visual art. Stef, then a conservatory teacher and
composer met Loubens while composing the soundtrack for a production
where he was working as stage designer. They became fast friends, and
after a few days started to write together, Loubens puting his sick
synth over Stef’s guitar rift...at the same time Lorenzo, a sound
engineer, was producing a project involving Lieu as singer. Lieu
was living in London looking for new inspirations and ideas. None
of them could imagine that they would soon be playing together...
Lorenzo and Loubens, who had been friends for ages, bumped into each
Other in a rock club and started chatting about their current
Projects...the next day they met at Lorenzo''s studio, and Loubens and Stef
played him one of their songs Lorenzo liked what he heard, and the three guys soon got working together, but they had a problem...
they needed a singer...but they weren’t in that situation for long...
When Lieu came back to Italy to record another demo tape for his
project, he found his producer Lorenzo with a c.d. in his hands...a
demo of two songs he’d recorded with Loubens and Stef...Lieu was
enthusiastic about the project, and quickly came on board...in
a few days these songs become Another Tuesday and In Town... finally
they could start working toward something new, a mix of dark,
electro, rock, glam and dance, even playing around with 5th century music.
Lieu’s metaphoric and deviant lyrics perfectly matching the eclectic sound...
