Details:
Honestly hipsters, you are probably too cool for this CD that surprisingly is only ironic in its title, but if you love honest, melancholy-flavored songs about relationships gone wrong (lyrically think Pernice Brothers and Elliott Smith) this album is for you.

Singer/songwriter Kevin Feely writes rousing rock-pop songs with loud, layered guitars, well place melodic hooks, and amphetamine charged drumbeats that you can’t get out of your head. Described by critics as, "The Postal Service meets Sugar" his latest CD - Getting Along Famously - pulls together a range of influences from the past 15 years while remaining true to his alternative roots in Minneapolis. We find the characters in the stories comfortable and commonplace, but by no means trivial – when you dig into the lyrics the emotional territory is all too familiar and will make you smile with regret. The tone of these tales is often wistful and sad, but with sound so energetic and bright on the surface you will have to decide for yourself how the characters fare in the end. Suggested listening is, “Greatest Story," "All This Was" and "Then I Saw Her Smile."

Kevin''s music career began inauspiciously in junior high playing keyboard in a Rush tribute band with no name in the mid ''80''s in suburban Minneapolis. Later inspired by the likes of Husker Du and the Replacements he switched to guitar, alternative rock and began a music odyssey that would take him to Los Angeles, college, and beyond. He made the switch to acoustic music after seeing an electrifying solo performance by Bob Mould in the early 90''s. Joined by Martin Ball (part-time guru at Burning Man) Kevin rode the unplugged wave of the era and formed the power-duo Kevin & Martin frequently playing acoustic coffee house shows in Eagle Rock - the Mecca of 90''s alt rock in LA. During these formative years Kevin performed with the legendary punk/pop surf band The Kung Fu Monkeys, and was soon inspired to record his now hard to find 1st EP: Lucky Charms. Next Kevin graduated from college, began a career in the toy business, and built a small, home studio in the backwater town of Manhattan Beach. In 2000 he joined forces again with the award winning Erik Kraber and finished his second, stunning album: Brighten Down - a melancholy mix of rock and acoustic music. Kevin recently returned to LA after living in Arizona and Japan, and now lives happily with his dog between the 405 and the ocean.
