The essence of Kevyn Rodgers & The Anointed Voices of Praise (AVOP) entails both of the aforementioned attributes. Throughout the group''s fifteen-year existence, the abiding anointing of the Holy Spirit has maintained AVOP''s presence in ministry. Transition, prayer and godly leadership have paved the road to destiny for the current thirteen-member ensemble that is AVOP.
The Anointed Voices of Praise have a call to the nations...as exemplified by the vision scripture St. Luke 4:18-19. They are anointed to preach the gospel, heal the brokenhearted, preach deliverance to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, and to set at liberty the bruised man-all through song. Anointed singing and worshipful lifestyles have made room for AVOP in the Kingdom of God to display the call of the Levite.
The members of AVOP come from various church backgrounds. The group also represents a collage of various music genres and ages, from traditional to contemporary to worship. The group has shared the stage with such gospel recording artist as Hezekiah Walker & Love Fellowship Tabernacle, Rev. Timothy Wright, Helen Baylor, and Rodney Posey. Under the leadership of the founder/director Kevyn Rodgers, AVOP endeavors to always minister in the name of the Lord Jesus. As an appointed minstrel of God for all mankind, AVOP is commissioned to serve the Lord by serving mankind; therefore, it will never do anything but covet the manifest presence of God in all venues of performance.
