The Rest of Angels was a birth pang, of forcing myself out into the world of acoustic instrumentalists. I came up with the initial ideas over the course of a couple years and spent time developing them but never had a great desire to record, let alone release a full length CD. But as time would have its way, taking me from basement recording with one takers on an A.D.A.T. to the full studio, the writing blossomed into the music you hear here. Some of the tracks were created in the studio during the recording and others were around for a long time merely waiting to be put down. I started the CD with 6 tracks ready, and the final 3 being written during the sessions. Those are: Don''t Know, The Rest of Angels and Par. Stories inspire and perspire at times- Inspire the music and make you sweat with joy or fear depending on the situation or other times when water escapes from your eyes. Either way emotion is part of it. From songs inspired by the naked Dance of the Psalmist to lifelong friend Dana Rae and others wring of heartache, The Lost Friend was written out of wrestling with the suicide of a close friend. I hope you enjoy listening, not only to the music but to the emotional time stamps behind it and the stories of joy and grief which bond us all in this life, and the hope for the next.
